Local organisations helping Munsieville's children

Five local organisations took part in a workshop in Munsieville last week, to update community leaders on new initiatives. There were presentations from Life Line, FAMSA, Westview Clinic, the Child Protection Unit and Sibambene Home Care. The community members highlighted the issues which they feel need urgent attention, including unregistered children, child abuse and neglect, substance abuse in teenagers and teenage pregnancy, and high levels of poverty in the township.
Life Line offered to organise a Community Peace Programme for 7 weeks (dates to be confirmed). FAMSA will run parenting skills sessions at Hope Park, starting from June 3rd for 8 weeks, while Westview Clinic will provide healthcare sessions for teenagers at the campus.
