Betty Nkoana – Operations Director, Thoughtful Path Munsieville

Betty previously worked for The Haven Centre, a consortium of not-for-profit organisations committed to supporting orphans and other vulnerable children in South Africa. In 2010, Betty was appointed Project Manager of The Thoughtful Path: Munsieville programme, becoming Director of Operations in July 2012. She studied project management and has experience in delivering humanitarian programmes in township environments.

Saffiera Sello – Mentor Supervisor

Public Health specialist and Hub Mentor Supervisor, Saffiera joined the Thoughtful Path in September 2012 and has been supporting the programme with her experience and wisdom ever since. Saffiera lives in Munsieville and has become a valuable contact for parents and caregivers needing support in the struggles with paperwork and complex registration processes.

Sibongile Mkhahluli – Manager, Children's Embassy

Sibongile is a peer educator and public health mentor. With her development studies background she joined the Thoughtful Path team in June 2014, perfectly qualified to work with the House of Young Ambassadors and all volunteers. In February 2017 Sibongile also took over the management of the Children’s Embassy.

Gladys Hanxa – Manager, Hope Park Nutrition Centre

Gladys completed a 12 month-course in office administration at UniCollege in Krugersdorp and now transfers her newly acquired knowledge into presentations, booking systems and workshop organisation in her role as the Nutrition Centre Manager at Hope Park. Gladys moved to Hope Park with her children and looks after the premises. Her keen interest in growing vegetables and healthy cooking makes every workshop in the Hope Park Nutrition Centre interesting and entertaining for the community of Munsieville.

Shelly – Manager, Fhulofhelo Children’s Centre and Mentor, Early Childhood Development Committee

Having been involved in the care of pre-school children for many years, and embracing the opportunity to receive training through The Thoughtful Path to become qualified as an Early Childhood Development educator, Shelly was recently appointed to support those who are helping drive up the quality of pre-school education and health through privately-owned facilities across Munsieville township. She also makes sure that the Fhulofhelo Children’s Centre runs smoothly.

 

Sarah Modisane –  Mentor, Vital Support Unit: Enterprise

Having lived in Munsieville for many years, and raising her own children there, Sarah has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by parents and caregivers in providing the necessities of life to children. She currently mentors the Thoughtful Path Enterprise Vital Support Unit, helping members to find solutions to poverty through economic activity.

 

 

Paul Brooks – Chairman, The Thoughtful Path South Africa

Paul has been working in the non-profit sector for over 35 years. His driving passion is to help those who have survived oppression, conflict and deprivation to discover their inner strength and use it to transform their own lives and the communities in which they live.

 

 

Anette von Block – Chief Operations Officer

Based in our UK offices, Anette joined Project HOPE UK in 2014 after a successful career managing complex assignments in the logistics industry. She now uses her experience to spearhead the delivery of our projects overseas and support the implementation of The Thoughtful Path, Munsieville - our signature programme in South Africa.

 

Liz-Westby-Nunn – Business Development and Funding Consultant

Liz Westby-Nunn joined our team in January 2018 to strengthen the Charity’s fundraising capacity in South Africa.  She has more than 40 years' experience in the tourism industry in South Africa and was Chair of the SA Tourism Board for three years during the Mandela presidency, serving a further three years as Board member from 2000 to 2003. As founder of South Africa’s well-known benchmarking accommodation guide, 'Portfolio of Places', Liz also spearheaded the development of township tourism accommodation. She sold Portfolio in 2012 and is now looking forward to working with the Munsieville team and community.
